Margaret attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) from the age of 7. She is a Licentiate of Trinity College London and a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
She has been a teacher throughout her working life and has recently retired after over 20 years as a classroom teacher and Music Co-ordinator at White Rock Primary School, and 4 years as a peripatetic piano teacher at Tower House School. During that time she also taught piano and singing privately and continues to do so.
She has sung in choirs from a young age, including the Royal Scottish Academy
Junior Choir, church choirs, the Savoy Club Choir (Glasgow), the South Devon
Choir, the Devon Guild of Singers & Players, Dart Voices, the Jubilee Choir and
currently the Dartington Community Choir.
For several years she sang at the Torbay & SW England Music Festival and is a
past winner of the Rose Bowl. She has performed solos with several choirs and
orchestras including the Abbas Music Group, the South Devon Choir, the Devon
Guild of Singers & Players, Dart Voices, the Westward Singers, Cantanola, and the
Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir.
